Lola Jaffe and Beryl Jolly
Maintaining The Performing Arts is the theme of this show. Lola Jaffe, President and Founder, and Beryl Jolly, Managing Director of the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center speak of Great Barrington’s enduring landmark, open since 1904. Built by local businessmen and now exquisitely restored, the Mahaiwe remains one of the area’s longest operating theaters. Once featuring vaudeville troupes en route to New York City, participating in the transition from silent film to talkies, and being the local stage for a variety of concerts over the years, the Mahaiwe is now in the current phase of its evolution as a regional center that welcomes worldclass talent in all of the performing arts.
